- Lightweight headset (275 gram) with 90-degree rotating ear cups provide a snug fit that conforms to your head
- 50 millimeter directional drivers for audio precision — enjoy the full audioscape of your favorite games
What we like about it: Although this headset is pricier than some others, it’s strong build ensures it will last. Everything about it is high quality.
“It’s an older headset sir, but it still checks out.” Star Wars references aside, this product has held its place as one of the best headsets out there. This is a reliable product. The plastic is considerably sturdier than the stuff found in most cheap headsets. It even features some steel elements (like the slider) to give it that extra durability, so this thing should last. Don’t worry about weight though; we found the HyperX to be light and comfortable. Padded with memory foam, the earcups will rotate a full 90 degrees. The ear pads stay cool, even during extended play sessions.
The headset posses a simple, mature look; entirely black aside from the red HyperX logo. If you want a lot of lights and bling, it offers very little of that. It offers great audio quality. We found the controls intuitive, from the swivel-to-mute mic to the on-ear volume slider. The mic does an excellent job in chat and is certified by both TeamSpeak and Discord. Additionally, the trusted headset is compatible with other chat services such as Skype. So while it does cost $50, we think the outstanding quality more than justifies the price.

What we like about it: Stellar sound quality and comfortable gear from some of the most trusted names in gaming audio.
At $40, this headset is a tad pricier than some of the other entries in this collection. Though it’s looks are pretty standard, this pair of headphones has fantastic audio quality and frequency response. We found this headset does a great job of picking up all those little, important game noises. This is excellent surround sound we’re talking about. The 90 degree swivel-action ear cups allow you to personalize the fit and the padding keeps you cool and comfortable even after hours of use. The sound controls, which include a mute switch, are located on the cable. The cable even comes with a strap you can use to tidy up the excess cord.
We found the mic did a great job of filtering out background noise and made for an explicit chat. The headset is compatible with PS4 in addition to PC, but you’ll only get stereo on the PS4. To use the surround sound on the PC, you will need the software and USB sound card included with the headset. Thankfully, both of these are easy to set up.
The only major downside of this product is that the earcup swivel connection is prone to breaking due to the plastic coupling. Still, the sound quality and comfort are some of the best, so we recommend the Logitech. Furthermore, you get a fantastic product and stay within the $50 price range.

EUKYMR Gaming Headset

What we like about it: This sleek, wireless headset is super adjustable and comfortable, all for the price of $50.
This is one killer headset. Not only do the speakers provide full surround sound, but the microphone also records a full 360 degrees of noise. That means you hear and record top quality sound. Don’t worry about your ears getting hot; the sports performance ear pads will stay cool even after hours of use. Memory foam helps make these your own and the build of the earcups is quite sturdy. It’s incredibly lightweight, so it won’t drag you down. It comes with a USB cord, but at 2.3 meters in length, it may be a bit long for some people’s taste.
We found the EUKYMR to be pretty adjustable, though some gamers thought the headset was a little loose even after making all the adjustments. Speaking of adjustments, you can make a lot of them to this headset. The earpads can move 10 degrees, and the band can be twisted in all sorts of ways. Due to its flexible design, it stands up well against falls or the occasional moment where you angrily throw the headset across the room after a most indubitably unfair death. Overall, this product is strong, flexible, and provides great sound quality, making it a good option for most gamers.

What we like about it: This achieves excellent sound quality at a super low price of $20. Additionally, Beexcellent offers tremendous customer service.
Though we found most people who bought the product were quite satisfied, in the few cases when the headset didn’t work, the company replaced them free of charge and free of hassle. Additionally, they’re very responsive to any questions you may have about their products. Now that’s the kind of customer service we like to see! While most people liked the microphone, we did note that it’s a bit on the short side. The mic is always in your field of vision, even if you have it bent to the side. However, that’s a pretty minor disadvantage to put up with when you only spent $20. Overall, these are pretty great.

What we like about it: This headset fits pretty much anyone. Not to mention, it looks awesome and has a noise-canceling microphone.
If you’re after a headset with a wicked cool look, this is it. With a black matte finish and red LED sidelights, anyone who sees you will know you mean business. The central band is extremely adjustable, and both male and female gamers found the headset to fit comfortably. This is largely due to the unique four-piece design of the headband. The earcups are padded with ventilating protein ear cushions. Not only is it comfortable, it provides high quality 7.1 surround sound audio. All these features make it an extremely popular headset, being the #1 best selling pc gaming headset on Amazon.
Despite its popularity, there are a few features that aren’t as reliable as we would like. Its noise canceling is one of those features. Though the product has many strong points, background noise is still prominent when using the headset. The headset also lacks cross-platform compatibility. And you will need to install a driver to enjoy the surround sound. Still, for $27, you’re getting a fantastic pc gaming headset. A remote on the cord allows for the convenient adjustment of volume. The Sades SA902 provides excellent audio for the price and is a reliable option if you’re willing to sacrifice versatility for excellent looks and comfort.
Razer Kraken Pro Analog Gaming Headset
- The Razer Kraken Pro gaming headset is compatible with PC, PS4 and Xbox One
- Elegant Razer form factor with perfect balance of weight, functionality and performance
- Game all-night long with plush comfort and optimized weight for extended wear
What we like about it: Boasting both comfort and wonderful sound quality, this is an outstanding headset.
Designed with comfort in mind, this green and black headset weighs a scant 11.7 ounces. Yes, that is the lightest headset on this list. We found it was comfortable even when playing for hours with glasses on. The sound quality is excellent, especially the bass. Though we featured the version with 40 mm speakers, 32 mm, and 50 mm options exist. Just remember, the bigger the speaker, the bigger the price. The headset has a lot of convenient features, including a red light on the mic that will let you know if you’re not muted. The microphone is even fully retractable.
Our biggest complaint with this headset is about the wiring. Unfortunately, the wiring is prone to wearing out, so you’ll want to be extra careful with it. Another problem you may encounter is that the microphone is a bit too adjustable, meaning a sudden cheer could move your mic. The headset functions with PC, PS4, and Xbox One, so it proves to be rather versatile. The in-line controls feel natural, and Razer is one of the most trusted names in gaming audio. Considering the great sound quality and comfort you get for $42, we’re happy to recommend this headset.
Ghostek Hero Series Gaming Headphones
What we like about it: Lightweight and sleek, this headset is also strong and durable, even when it comes to the cord.
Our biggest disappointment with this one is that the skull in the product image is not included. For this headset, you’ll have three color options. You can either get it in solid black, black and green, or black and red. It’s pretty light, weighing in at 1 pound even. The headset features a handsome integrated volume controller with a sound wheel and easy mic mute. The mic also rotates a full 120 degrees, meaning you can put it up and out of your vision. One unique feature of the Ghostek is the braided cord, which we will attest is quite strong.
This is one of the stronger headsets we found, as we’ve previously mentioned, even the cord is designed for optimum strength. But in case anything should fail you, it comes with a 1-year warranty. There’s no need to mess with driver installation. The headset is ready to go as soon as you get it out of the box. That’s one less thing to worry about! Most people found the fit to be comfortable, but some with large heads complain about it being too tight. If you’re looking for a robust and light option with a warranty, this is the one for you.
KINDEN Gaming Headset
No products found.
Why we like it: This headset works on many platforms, has four speakers, and is backed by a one year warranty.
If you want something futuristic, this is your headset. The headset sports a variety of modes, such as Support Broad Mode, Near-field Mode, Super Bass Mode, Nicam Mode, and HIFI Live Mode. It has large lights on both padded earcups and comes in one of two colors: black and brown. Even the microphone lights up!. There are some unique style differences between the colors. The lights on the black model look like hyperdrives whereas the sidelights on the brown model give off a Transformers vibe (the eyes light up). Whatever version you choose, you’ll be sure to be gaming in style.
Those planning to use the headset with the Xbox One should be warned that they will need to buy an extra adapter. Thankfully, the headset can connect to PC, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch as is. The 1-year warranty should ensure you get your $30 worth. All those modes the headset comes with really provide that extra degree of audio immersion. This might be the best sound you’ll get on a cheap headset. On the downside, we found the microphone muting to be unreliable. The large size also weighed upon us (pun intended). That said, this is a great headset with sick looks, making for a great gaming option.
Plantronics GAMECOM 818 Wireless Stereo Headset
Why we like it: The GAMECOM 818 offers a classy, minimalist look, cuts down on messy wires, and doesn’t require any installation steps.
Inside the black and red box, beneath a thin layer of plastic and cardboard, lies a headset that doesn’t scream “geek!” No fancy sidelights, no neon emblems emblazoned on the side, no glaring remote buttons. This is a discreet gaming headset. It puts the wires in favor of a USB receiver stick, giving you a range of 40 feet. The mute mode is activated by moving the microphone into an upright position, so you can be sure others only hear the words meant for them. The control buttons are located on the headphone, and we found the product was very intuitive to use.
We found its construction to be comfortable, though not the most durable. It should last if treated with care, but the light plastic isn’t very strong. And speaking of not breaking things, be nice to the USB receiver. Should that thing malfunction, you’ll have to replace the entire headset. Thankfully, the whole package is only $25. Going wireless means you have to worry about battery life. Fortunately, you shouldn’t have to worry too much with this one. A single charge will last you up to 10 hours. Another plus is that you can use the headset as soon as you open it, no drivers needed. If you’re good about not dropping things, don’t want to stand out when using your headset, and want to say goodbye to wires, this is the one for you.
